Message from the LMSC Coordinator

Welcome to the Library Management Sub-Committee (LMSC) of Itahari Namuna College. As the Coordinator, I am honored to lead this dedicated team committed to enhancing the quality and accessibility of our library resources and services. Our goal is to support the academic and research needs of our students and faculty, ensuring a dynamic and resource-rich learning environment.

We believe that an effective library management system is crucial for fostering a culture of academic excellence and lifelong learning. Our vision is to develop a robust system that supports not only academic pursuits but also the intellectual growth of the college community.

Objectives, Formation, Meeting & Duration

Objectives:

  1. To promote and facilitate the efficient management and utilization of library resources.
  2. To support the academic and research needs of students and faculty.
  3. To foster a collaborative environment through partnerships with academic, industry, and government entities.
  4. To enhance transparency and accountability in library operations.
  5. To develop and implement strategies for resource acquisition and collection development.
  6. To regularly assess and improve library services offered to the college community.

Formation of LMSC:
1.1. The following members, appointed by the College Management Committee, constitute the LMSC team:

  • Coordinator: Appointed by the CMC
  • Members: Representatives from Academic Departments, IT, and Student Body

Terms of Team:
2.1. Members serve terms of up to four years, including the Coordinator.
2.2. External members may serve additional terms with CMC approval.

Quorum:
3.1. The quorum for meetings shall be above 51% of the total Committee members.

Meeting Schedule:
4.1. The Committee should convene at least once a month.
4.2. Meeting schedules and agendas are determined by the member-secretary in coordination with the Coordinator.

Reporting:
5.1. The Committee reports to the College Chief through correspondence or in-person meetings.
5.2. An annual progress report is submitted to the IQAC for review.

Duties and Responsibilities
6.1. Develop and implement a comprehensive library management framework for the College.
6.2. Ensure the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of library resources.
6.3. Facilitate training programs to enhance library management skills among staff.
6.4. Establish collaborations with external organizations for resource sharing and development.
6.5. Ensure ethical standards in all library management activities conducted under the College.
6.6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of library services and provide regular updates to the College Management Committee.
6.7. Promote the dissemination of library resources through reports, publications, and other platforms.
6.8. Recognize and reward outstanding contributions to library management and utilization.
6.9. Foster a supportive environment that promotes academic excellence and intellectual growth.
