Message from the SCPSC Coordinator

Welcome to the Student Counselling & Job Placement Sub-Committee (SCPSC) of Itahari Namuna College. As the Coordinator, I am honored to lead this dedicated team committed to enhancing the well-being and career readiness of our students. Our goal is to provide comprehensive support services that address both personal and professional development, ensuring that our students are well-prepared for their future endeavors.

We believe that effective counselling and job placement services are crucial for fostering a supportive and successful academic environment. Our vision is to develop a robust system that not only supports students in their academic pursuits but also prepares them for the challenges of the professional world.

Objectives, Formation, Meeting & Duration

Objectives:

  1. To promote and facilitate comprehensive counselling services for students.
  2. To support career development and job placement activities aligned with industry standards.
  3. To foster a collaborative environment through partnerships with academic, industry, and government entities.
  4. To enhance transparency and accountability in student support services.
  5. To develop and implement strategies for student well-being and professional readiness.
  6. To regularly assess and improve the quality of counselling and placement services offered to students.

Formation of SCPSC:
1.1. The following members, appointed by the College Management Committee, constitute the SCPSC team:

  • Coordinator: Appointed by the CMC
  • Members: Representatives from Academic Departments, Career Services, and Student Body

Terms of Team:
2.1. Members serve terms of up to four years, including the Coordinator.
2.2. External members may serve additional terms with CMC approval.

Quorum:
3.1. The quorum for meetings shall be above 51% of the total Committee members.

Meeting Schedule:
4.1. The Committee should convene at least once a month.
4.2. Meeting schedules and agendas are determined by the member-secretary in coordination with the Coordinator.

Reporting:
5.1. The Committee reports to the College Chief through correspondence or in-person meetings.
5.2. An annual progress report is submitted to the IQAC for review.

Duties and Responsibilities:
6.1. Develop and implement a comprehensive counselling and job placement framework for the College.
6.2. Ensure the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of counselling and job placement services.
6.3. Facilitate training programs to enhance counselling and job placement skills among staff.
6.4. Establish collaborations with external organizations for resource sharing and professional development.
6.5. Ensure ethical standards in all counselling and job placement activities conducted under the College.
6.6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and job placement services and provide regular updates to the College Management Committee.
6.7. Promote the dissemination of information about counselling and job placement services through reports, publications, and other platforms.
6.8. Recognize and reward outstanding contributions to counselling and job placement services.
6.9. Foster a supportive environment that promotes student well-being and career readiness.
